- The Netherlands concludes T20 tour with win over DP World Lions

With captain Edwards on the BBL bench in Melbourne, it was an even more impressive achievement: a win over the DP World Lions in the final T20 friendly game in South Africa.
DP World Lions posted a challenging 169/6 with 33-year-old lefthander Dominic Hendricks (52) as top scorer. Daniel Doram took 2-19 for the Netherlands, while Viv Kingma (2-29) once again provided an early breakthrough.
Michael Levitt and Max O'Dowd provided a fantastic opening stand. It was only after 14.2 overs that the wicket of Levitt (45) fell on 131. Max O'Dowd was back with a blistering 89 off 42 balls with three fours and eight sixes. Nidamanuru and O'Dowd were dismissed before Noah Croes and Wesley Barresi made the winning runs (in only seventeen overs). Three 'Lions' took a wicket, but were very expensive.
This brings an end to a useful series of warm-up matches. In the run-up to the T20 World Cup in June, the Netherlands will play more warm-ups, including against Nepal, Uganda, Ireland and Scotland. More on this later.
