- The Netherlands defeat Namibia in captivating World Cup clash

The Netherlands men’s team has defeated Namibia. In the second World Cup match in Delhi, the Netherlands surpassed 156 Namibian runs for the loss of only three wickets with Bas de Leede making a match winning 72 not out.
Fred Klaassen and Timm van der Gugten came into the team for Kyle Klein and the injured Paul van Meekeren. Captain Scott Edwards won the toss and opted to field. Namibia took many risks, but the Netherlands took wickets at crucial moments. The score went from 95/3/12.2 to 137/6/18 thanks to brilliant spells from Bas de Leede (2-20) and Logan van Beek (2-13, including top scorer Loftie-Eaton) and a fantastic catch from Aryan Dutt at short mid wicket (the dangerous Gerhard Erasmus). The Netherlands' target was 157 runs. Offspinner Dutt was again economical and effective with 1-13.
Michael Levitt (28) gave the Netherlands an explosive start. At 77/2/10 and 95/2/12, the Netherlands were well on course for victory. Colin Ackermann (32) and Bas de Leede formed a 70-run partnership for the third wicket (116/3/14). Scott Edwards and the undisputed Player of the Match Bas de Leede (72 not out off 48 balls) finished clinically without losing any more wickets (159/3).
With this victory, the Netherlands can maintain their hopes of qualifying for the Super Eight. The Netherlands will play the United States on February 13 and India on February 18.
