- The Netherlands falls just short against PNG

The Dutch women's team failed to win its fourth match against Papua New Guinea. They were unable to chase 126 runs and were stranded at 118/9.
Sanya Khurana and Isabel van der Woning came in for Hannah Landheer and Merel Dekeling. PNG, which won the toss, batted aggressively; they gave away some chances, but survived. Left-hander Doriga was dropped on 14 in the fifth over and Vare (45 not out) on 10 in the sixth. After the Powerplay, the score was 37/1.
PNG's "va banque" tactics paid off, as the team racked up a lot of boundaries (eventually 22) and reached 62/2 midway through the innings. The Myrthe/ Caroline combination saw Doriga's departure (39) in the tenth over.
The Dutch fielding was somewhat less than stellar this time, although several players made good stops. After 77/2/14 and 93/2/16, PNG reached 126/2; a hefty target, despite a superb eighteenth over from Isabel van der Woning. Caroline de Lange took 1-20.
Dutch Innings
A vigorous runchase was required. Sterre Kalis (in a class of her own with 40) and Robine Rijke (a fine 29) laid a solid foundation, but lapses in concentration led to the loss of wicket at crucial moments.
The late middle order made another attempt, and thirteen runs were required from the final over. Ultimately, the Dutch team fell nine runs short for victory.
