- The Netherlands outclasses Austria: 187-47

The second group game against the weak Austria offered a good opportunity for the newcomers to bat. It was decided otherwise and given Austria's lacklustre attack, it was no big surprise that the Netherlands went full throttle to 82/0 in five overs.
Iris Zwilling, dropped on 55, 70 and 73, advanced to 100 not out off 31 balls and Robine Rijke got to 76 not out off 31 balls. 187/0 in ten overs was a record, although the Netherlands missed the opportunity to give talents such as Schmitt, Vermeire, Khurana, Dekeling and Lawrence a batting chance with a view to the remaining games against England.
The mission for Austria was to simply spend some time in the crease. After ten overs it was 47/5. Robine Rijke took 2-2, Caroline de Lange 1-9 and Isabel van der Woning was extremely economical with 0-3 in two overs. On Thursday, December 21, the final group stage match against England awaits at 1.45 pm, on Friday the final matches will be played.
