- The Netherlands shows resilience against Canada

The Dutch men's team has once again defended a relatively low total successfully in Rotterdam. The Dutch made 220 all out in 47.2 overs and bowled out Canada for 157, with Paul van Meekeren taking five wickets.
The match against the USA on Thursday had a 180-degree turn, and something similar happened against Canada on Saturday.
Musa Ahmad, on the team for Wesley Barresi, saw captain Scott Edwards lose the toss.
'First blood' happened for the Canadians in the first over, when Michael Levitt was given caught, much to his surprise and disappointment. The unfortunate start of the Dutch got a slightly better sequel, until shortly after each other Max O'Dowd (LBW for 18) and Vikram Singh (for 25 caught at mid on) lost their wicket (51/3).
Musa Ahmad and Scott Edwards brought the score to 80 when Musa was caught at backward point.
The highest partnership of the Dutch innings (59 for the fifth wicket) came from of Noah Croes (31) and Scott Edwards, who with a classy 72 was again the backbone of the Dutch innings. However, with the exception of 19 runs by Shariz Ahmad, there was not much else to be celebrated on the Orange side: 220 all out. Left arm seamer Kaleem Sana took 4-30.
Innings Canada
Aaron Jones (32 off 28 balls) and Dilpreet Bajwa (20) started swiftly (59/1). On the difficult VOC pitch, Viv Kingma and Paul van Meekeren then ransed through the middle order. Helped by catches from Edwards, Shariz and a fantastic one from Noah Croes it was suddenly 67/5.
Despite Movva's resistance (47), Canada eventually fell well short: 157 all out in 35.4 overs. Viv Kingma (3-31) was still surpassed in figures by the unreachable Player of the Match Paul van Meekeren (5-28).
On Wednesday, August 21, the Netherlands will play the last ODI in this series against the United States.
