- Umpire duo Akram & Bathi selected for U19 ICC World Championship in West Indies

KNCB umpire duo Rizwan Akram and Nitin Bathi have been invited by the ICC to take charge of matches in the U19 ICC World Championship in the West Indies next January. The KNCB is extremely proud of the appointment of Akram and Bathi and sees this as recognition of their talents and skills.
Rizwan Akram:
I am super happy, proud and honored to be invited to the West Indies for the Under-19 World Cup.
I am looking forward to representing the Netherlands at the world championships, learning and further developing myself. It is a great next step in my career. Just like the players, as an umpire you also try to do your very best and to have a good tournament. Who knows what could result from that.
In addition, it is great that the World Cup takes place in the middle of our winter. Because with the run-up to a busy summer of cricket for the Dutch national team, this way you will not have too long a period without cricket at a high level.
Roland Lefebvre:
The KNCB is extremely proud of Rizwan Akram and Nitin Bathi who have both been selected for the U19 ICC World Cup to be played in January in the West Indies.
This appointment should be seen as a great international recognition for the qualities of both umpires and we wish Rizwan and Nitin every success.
