Unleashed Kalis lays foundation for high score
Published at 12 June, 2025The Dutch women's cricket team has won the third and penultimate T20I against the United States. 164/5 turned out too high a mountain to climb for the visitors.
For the Netherlands, that was sent in, Heather Siegers continued where she had finished on Wednesday: 36 off eighteen balls with seven boundaries.
Supported by contributions from Babette de Leede and Iris Zwilling, it was Sterre Kalis (81 not out) who vigourously took the anchor role. Especially in the final phase, she showed what she is capable of, with four consecutive fours in the final over. The Dutch scored an excellent 164/5, the fifth highest score ever.
A nice innings by Aditiba Chudasama - 60 not out off 54 balls - could not prevent the US from having only 112/5 as their final score. Iris Zwilling took 2-17 for the Netherlands.
On Friday, the fourth and final T20I is at Kampong at 12:00.
