- Varying results Netherlands A in Krefeld (D)

Last weekend, The Netherlands A played a T10 tournament in Krefeld against Germany and Belgium. Surprisingly, the reigning European T10 champion finished third and last of this rehearsal for the Finals Week in October in Spain.
On the first day, The Netherlands A made a seemingly defensible 142/5 (Sikander Zulfiqar 34 off 10, Overdijk 38 off 17), but Germany went passed that in the last thanks to Aritharan Vaseekaran (52 out off 15 with 5x6). Mees van Vliet took 1-16, Elenbaas 2-30.
Against Belgium, The Netherlands A won. Belgium made 'only' 123 in the ten available overs in response to 155 Dutch runs (Musa Ahmad 41 off 13, Sikander 36 off 12). Udit Nashier took 2-6.
In the third T10 of the Saturday, the Netherlands was unable to beat Germany. The match was almost identical to the first, with the difference that Germany only lost one wicket before passing the 142/5 of the Orange reserves (Gorlee 34). Again, Vaseekaran was destructive with 60 off 21.
In the fourth game, Orange A could not hold its own against Belgium. Ali Raza (63 out of 24 with 6x6) top scored in Belgium's 164/2. Despite 60 crunching runs by Musa Ahmad (off 23 balls with 8x6), The Netherlands A did not get further than 140/8.
The third meeting with Germany did bring a Dutch win. Hidde Overdijk was on fire with 61 (19) and Sebastiaan Braat with 68 (24). The 177/3 was too big a task even for the Germans, although thanks to Afridi (78 off 26) they came close: 164/5.
The third and final game against our southern neighbors was again a prey for the Belgians. 168/6 (Sherry Butt 60 off 19, Overdijk 2-6, Sikander 3-32) proved to be too big an ask for the Dutch.
