- Win and loss for Dutch women vs USA

In preparation for the World Cup Qualifier in Harare, Zimbabwe, the Dutch women played the United States twice. The first game was won big, the second was lost.
In the first game, the US got off to a good start with an opening partnership of 71 runs. When spinner Eva Lynch cleared the opening pair, things started to improve for the Netherlands, especially when legspinners Caroline de Lange (very economical with 1-20 in 10 overs) and Silver Siegers (3-18 in 6) were involved in the attack. Heather Siegers (1-24 in 7) and Hannah Landheer (2-28 in 6) also bowled well. America was thrown all out within the 50 overs for 185. Jolien van Vliet did a good job with a catch and a stumping. Her colleague Babette de Leede caused a great run out, as fielder.
Babette de Leede (55) also made a name for herself in the Dutch innings by opening strongly. The 22-year-old student spends the winter in Cape Town, where she trains at the Gary Kristen Cricket Academy. It's great to have Sterre Kalis back again. The only Dutch player to take part in The Hundred in the summer showed her class with a flawless 54 not out. Finally, Robine Rijke has not only successfully adapted her bowling action, but also worked hard on her batting. That already paid off during the recent T20 tournament in Spain, but now the The Hague-based player got herself to a smooth 49 not out. Netherlands go 188/2 in only 31.4 overs.
Match 2
A day later, America was clearly out for revenge. Sunday's big run getters all went zero at the hands of Tara Norris. This half-Italian 23-year-old left arm seamer was born in Philadelphia, and played in The Hundred last summer. On Sunday, she was did alright with 1-23, but on Monday she was unparalleled with 4-3!
The Netherlands never got over this destructive pace. Gwen Bloemen got to a decent 23 and Marloes Braat to 14, but with low scores for the top batters, the Orange could only total 85 runs. That turned out to be a total that the US struggled with, as the Orange took five more wickets before the winning hit was struck. Eva Lynch and Iris Zwilling each took two wickets.
Bangladesh final warm-up match before World Cup Qualifier begins
This Friday, November 19, the Dutch take on Bangladesh in their final warm-up match. On November 23, the Dutch women will start their World Cup Qualifier against Sri Lanka. Ireland is next, on November 25 and the final group match will be against the West Indies on November 29.
