- Women beat USA in shortened T20I

After two abandoned matches on Saturday at VRA and on Monday at Kampong, a match could finally be played. Unfortunately, it was shortened, because due to a cloudburst above Utrecht, only a T10 could be played. The Netherlands won 87-71.
Sterre Kalis (22) and Babette de Leede (52 not out) brought a fine 87/2 into the books. The running between the wickets was daring but excellent and the boundary was also found regularly. The two final overs yielded 23 runs through three boundaries by De Leede and lightning fast running by Robine Rijke, who turned ones into twos.
In the first over of the American innings, a catching opportunity was missed. Shortly afterwards, however, the Siegers sisters ensured that the first American wicket fell (28/1). In the same over, the dangerous Ritu Singh was run out.
The US did not yield. With sharp running between the wickets – sometimes too sharp, Disha Dhingra (28) was one of the three run out victims – they stayed in the match. Thanks to good bowling and alert fielding, the Dutch maintained a reasonably large margin: 87-71. Silver Siegers took 2-13.
