- MI Cape Town gives batting masterclass

The Dutch men's team has not been able to win the fourth friendly game in South Africa. At Newlands, the rock-solid franchise MI Cape Town lived up to its reputation: 205-165.
Although Van der Dussen did not score any runs, Dewald Brevis had other plans. Especially the seamers were taken care of. The 20-year-old super talent made 58 off 26 balls with seven sixes. Sam Curran repeated that feat in the final overs: 7x6 in his 69 (27). After 151/5/17 it became 205/5. Medium pacer Michael Levitt went from 1-9 in two overs to 2-37 in four.
In form, Max O'Dowd is one of the finest ball strikers of the Dutch team. After a lean patch, the spectators now got more than a glimpse of his abilities with 46 off 42 balls. The start was good anyway; Noah Croes also made a fine 30 off 25. As a result, the opening score was 71/0/9.
Sybrand Engelbrecht continued his good form with 32 off 23 balls, but the relatively quick fall of the other wickets meant that the Dutch came up short: 165/9/20 – not a bad score against the strong SA20 participant.
Remaining fixtures:
9/1/24 Paarl (without crowd)
12/1/24 Lions (Wits)
13/1/24 Lions (Wits)
