- Netherlands Women prepare for World Cup Qualifier

The Netherlands Women’s XI will travel to Thailand in April to take part in a quadrangular series. Besides hosts Thailand, Ireland and Zimbabwe are the other two competing teams in the series. The matches will be played between 3-11 April at the Royal Chiang Mai Golf Club and Prem International School in Chiang Mai. This tour will form part of the preparation work being done for the World Cup Qualifier taking place later in the year in Sri Lanka.
Coach Sean Trouw said: “It is great that Cricket Thailand are hosting a tour like this after their achievements in the T20 World Cup and we are thankful to Cricket Thailand for the invitation. As a team we are excited to get outside and play some cricket and put into practice what we have been working on in the winter. It is our first outing as a group in quite some time [Scotland last year was the last time] and we are looking forward to getting some miles in the bodies. 50 over cricket is a demanding format and we will get a really good idea of where we are at early in our season. There have been quite a few of our group over in Australia for the winter playing cricket at various clubs, and we are excited to see what they have picked up and can share with the squad. This tour is a great opportunity to start fine tuning all our plans for the coming summer.”
