- Scotland too big for the Dutch in T20I in Amstelveen

Earlier this year, Scotland qualified for the T20 World Cup. On Friday, they demonstrated why: without the Bryce sisters and medium pacer Hannah Rainey, they defeated the Dutch 145/4 – 118/9.
Early in the match, the Netherlands, who chose to field first, had Scotland on the proverbial back foot thanks to wickets from Caroline de Lange (2-15 in four overs) and Annemijn van Beuge. However, helped by some misfields and dropped catching opportunities, Chatterji and Carter (54 off 36) then made 87 for the fourth wicket. As a result, the score was still a challenging 145/4.
Innings Netherlands
Sterre Kalis (20) was unlucky that a ball from offspinner Olivia Bell kept low. Iris Zwilling made 23, Babette de Leede 17 and Frédérique Overdijk 15, but smart bowling and fielding made it difficult to make the required seven runs per over.
A productive seventeenth over gave the Dutch a glimmer of hope, but 49 from three overs proved too much to ask on the strong and varied Scottish attack. Legspinner Nayma Sheikh took 4-14.
