- Strong Dutch women’s team crushes Scotland

In one of its best T20I matches ever, the Dutch women's team crushed Scotland. Captain Babette de Leede opted for batting on a fine pitch, the Netherlands scoring 148/7. Scotland struggled against this challenging score, reaching only 121/8.
Babette de Leede (15) and Phebe Molkenboer combined for 33 for the second wicket. Molkenboer (32) and Kalis added 37 for the third wicket, followed by a 69-run partnership for the fourth wicket (Robine Rijke 27 off 19 balls). Sterre Kalis once again played the anchor role with a monumental 55 not out off 44 balls. After 136/5/18, the Dutch could have even done better than 148/7, but the score would prove challenging enough.
Scotland's innings
The dangerous Darcey Carter was caught in the first over by Molkenboer off the outstanding Iris Zwilling. Despite this dream start, Scotland still reached 72/2/10 and were on course for victory with a partnership of 68 for the second wicket.
However, Fraser (39) gave away her wicket (a good catch from Zwilling in the outfield) and the score was 83/3 when Caroline de Lange bowled Sarah Bryce (31) with an absolute beauty. Isabel van der Woning bowled a superb thirteenth over, conceding just one run.
By maintaining the pressure, 54 runs were required from five overs. The Netherlands could even afford some mediocre groundfielding in the closing stages. The catching was good (Dekeling, Rijke), allowing Iris Zwilling to leave with a superb 3-19. Caroline de Lange bowled 2-29 and Frédérique Overdijk, who recently switched to offspin with great success, 2-16. The winning margin was 27 runs, a fantastic performance by the Dutch women.
The Netherlands currently sits fourth on Net Run Rate and could climb the rankings if they beat Uganda tonight.
