In Scotland, the Netherlands U19 (women) played three games against the home country this week. The winner (Scotland) will advance to the U19 Cricket World Cup in 2025.

The Scots sent in the Netherlands and did not regret that. Only Myrthe van der Raad reached double figures in a total of 41 all out. Parker, Maceira and McColl each took three wickets for the Scots, who won in 4.5 overs without losing a wicket (Kelly 26 not out).

A day later, the performance of the Dutch was significantly better. The Netherlands managed 89/8 in twenty overs with 15 runs for Ana Wijffels and 26 for captain Carlijn van Koolwijk, who were also the most successful bowlers with 2-16 and 2-12 respectively. Keeper Rosalie Lawrence had a catch and a stumping. Scotland have now achieved the (well-deserved) World Cup qualification.

Rosalie Lawrence, who had already made two casualties as keeper earlier in the day, became the Dutch top scorer with 22 runs. With 80/7, the Dutch did not have an answer to the high Scottish score. A useful tour that indicated what it takes to compete on an international level!
