- Seafarers too strong for debutant Royals

In the second match of the Fairtree ProSeries, the debutant Royals were unable to spring a surprise. On the Hermes DVS ground in Schiedam, the Seafarers secured a victory with a score of 278-168. Shariz Ahmad (78 runs) and Alex Roy (five wickets) were among the standouts.
Vikram Singh and Cedric de Lange (29) once again got off to a strong start for the Seafarers. This time, the left-handers scored 88 runs for the first wicket, with Vikram (69) acting as the main aggressor. Another 87 runs were added for the sixth wicket when Shariz Ahmad (78) and Kyle Klein (36) put together a fine partnership. Sikander Zulfiqar took 2-41 for the Royals and Mees van Vliet 2-45.
The Royals had no answer to the Seafarers' 278. Saqib Zulfiqar made 44 runs and Lucas del Bianco 30, but major partnerships failed to materialize and at 118/7 the match was essentially over. Alex Roy was largely responsible for this, coming off the field with 5-50, backed by left arm spinner Asief Hoseinbaks (3-40).
The third and final round of the Fairtree ProSeries is on May 19 at 11:00 AM at Salland in Deventer. Check here for results and fixtures.
