- Western Sharks narrowly defeat Southern Suns

Fairtree sponsors the KNCB Cricket Academy and the tournaments featuring the best players in the leagues, for both men (Fairtree ProSeries) and women (Fairtree SuperSeries). In the first – shortened – women's match, the Western Sharks only managed to overtake the Southern Suns in the final over.
The T20 World Cup gleamed on the terrace, but drizzling rain kept delaying the start. Eventually, it was decided to play a match of twelve overs per side.
The Suns decided to bat and reached 73/4/12, with Rosalie Lawrence (21 not out) as top scorer. Myrthe van den Raad (2-13) and Isabel van der Woning (1-7) bowled strongly.
With Carlijn van Koolwijk (22 not out) and Iris Zwilling (25) batting and running well, the game tilted in favor of the Sharks. Zwilling was bowled at the last minute by Hannah Landheer, but just before the storm broke out, Myrthe van den Raad forced the decision with the most beautiful cover drive of her still-early career.
