- The Netherlands breaks records in mega win over Germany

As was hoped in advance, the Netherlands defeated Germany comfortably in the third World Cup qualifying match. Heather Siegers' 106 was at the base of the Dutch record score of 255 runs. Germany managed 53 all out.
Hannah Landheer and Sanya Khurana came into the team for Isabel van der Woning and Merel Dekeling.
After a modest opening over Phebe Molkenboer (73) and Heather Siegers came on steam. The result was a partnership of 116 runs for the first wicket. Siegers and Babette de Leede (26) added 54 for the second wicket.
Heather Siegers and Frédérique Overdijk provided a flawless final chord, with Siegers well-deservedly making her first T20I-century (106 not out) including eighteen fours. 255 was a record score for the Dutch; the previous record (196/3) dated from 2019 and was also against Germany.
The German innings showed that there was a big difference in quality. Bowlers Iris Zwilling, Hannah Landheer, Caroline de Lange and Silver Siegers led the Dutch to a well-deserved monster victory.
On Sunday, the Dutch will play against Italy at VOC in Rotterdam at 3:45 pm. In case of a win, the Netherlands qualifies for the Global Qualifier in Nepal in January.
